Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom would like to see Jake Paul face UFC superstar Conor McGregor in a boxing match.
Paul and McGregor have been trading words for some time, with YouTube star turned boxer pressing aggressively for the fight.
Last Sunday night in Cleveland, Paul raised his pro record to 4-0 with 3 wins by knockout, when he picked up an eight round split decision win over former UFC champion Tyron Woodley.
The bout was Paul's second contest with a former UFC fighter.
Back in April, he blasted out Ben Askren in a single round.
The contest with Woodley was a clear display of Paul's drawing power at home, with 16,000 fans at a sold-out Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
“Look, you’ve got to take your hat off. What Jake Paul and Logan Paul did was quite amazing, you know? And the show was packed," Hearn told IFL.
“Boxing is a tough, tough sport to crack in America. We found that. It’s not like it is in the UK, and I think they’re [Logan and Jake] doing a good job. But I think it’s about to fizzle out, I really do. I think any novelty act only stays novel for a certain period of time, and it’s always about the product.
“The product isn’t actually great. The idea is great, the hype is great, but what you’re actually watching just isn’t very good.”
Paul recently signed a multi-fight deal with Showtime.
What's next for Paul?
Hearn, who promoted Paul's pro debut, wants him to fight McGregor.
“I think he should fight Conor McGregor. I think he’s [Jake Paul] going to get beat sooner or later. So why not just go and fight Conor McGregor and make loads of money. It’s actually quite a good fight," Hearn said.
“I don’t know how they’re going to make the weight up. Could Jake get to 170? I don’t know. But just make the fight. Let them make a few quid and then walk off into the sunset.”
