Eddie Hearn, promoter for heavyweight veteran Derek Chisora, believes his fighter could still be a viable force in the weight class.
Last weekend in Manchester, Chisora suffered a twelve round decision loss in his rematch with former WBO world champion Joseph Parker.
At the advanced age of 37-years-old, it was Chisora's twelfth career defeat.
He took a lot of punishment in the fight, with Parker scoring three knockdowns and landing a large number of big shots.
Chisora has now lost three fights in a row, with his last win occurring in October of 2019 with a knockout of David Price.
One top level boxer that Hearn would give his fighter a strong chance to beat is former WBC world champion Deontay Wilder.
Wilder has lost his last two outings, both to Tyson Fury, and both of them by stoppage.
Wilder will be hunting for a comeback opponent in 2022 - and Hearn feels Chisora could be a solid crossroads foe.
However, Chisora will have to weather a very dangerous early storm, says Hearn.
Wilder has knocked out every opponent that he ever faced - except Fury, who himself went down a total of four times between three fights.
As long as the fight is extending beyond the first four rounds, Hearn would back Chisora to beat Wilder.
"All Chisora’s losses have come at elite level, and Wilder is elite level. Listen, Chisora can beat Wilder. If he hits him with a big shot... I tell you what, if that fight goes past four rounds, Chisora wins that fight. But he’s got to get past four rounds and that’s gonna be really dangerous against someone who punches as hard as Wilder," Hearn said, according to The Sun.
