Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport believes Amir Khan was not properly motivated for Friday's fight with Chris Algieri, and that's why he struggled in the match. Khan won a twelve round unanimous decision, but not before Algieri had plenty of moments of his own before a crowd of over 7,000 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Khan's domestic rival, IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook, returned on Friday night in London and easily stopped Frankie Gavin in six rounds.

More than anything, Hearn wants to stage a Brook-Khan showdown in a stadium in the UK. But Khan is looking at other options, like Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao.

If Brook was in the ring Friday night, Hearn predicts he would have ended Algieri in three rounds.

“No, [I don't think Brook would have those kind of problems with Algieri]. I the Algieri....the fight would be over in three rounds. You are going to reach the stage where Amir Khan is going to run out of people to fight. And the problem with Khan's performance is that he probably wasn't motivated," Hearn said. "There is so much more to come from Kell Brook. We're just scratching the surface. Our hope is, that all of you guys will put pressure on Amir Khan."
