IBO junior welterweight champion Ricky Hatton is looking forward to a all-out brawl on June 23 when he meets Jose Luis Castillo at Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, which holds 17,000 fans.
Hatton thinks that his brawling style will make him a fighter that fans will remember for many years, unlike his rival Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
"I am not going to take a backward step and neither will Jose. That has always been a priority for me as a fighter because it means a lot to me what the fans think. People remember fighters like me, Arturo Gatti and Julio Cesar Chavez more than they remember safety-first fighters like Floyd Mayweather," Hatton said.
Hatton says that he would never trade his physical gifts with those of Mayweather. He won't even stay up to watch Mayweather face Oscar De La Hoya on May 5, because in his opinion the style of Mayweather will make for a bad fight.
"As fantastic as Mayweather is, I would not swap my style for his talent. I think he will be very negative in the De La Hoya fight. I might set the video but I won't stay up to watch it," Hatton said.
