On Saturday afternoon, former champion Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero made a perfect prediction for the big weekend fight. He selected Lamont Peterson to win a close split decision over Amir Khan to capture the WBA/IBF junior welterweight titles in Washington, DC. The fight played like out like Guerrero pictured, with Khan starting fast but quickly going on his bike and Peterson rallying forward to score points. After twelve rounds, Peterson pulled off the upset - by split decision.

BoxingScene.com: Robert, you've been amazing with your fight  predictions of late. What are your thoughts about the outcome of Khan vs. Peterson?

I've always been a student of the game and styles make fights. I picked Victor Ortiz to beat Andre Berto. I said Marquez would beat Pacquiao  and now I'm right on with my prediction of Peterson beating Khan.

BoxingScene.com: Peterson was hitting Khan with many flush shots. Do you now feel that Amir has a better chin?

Khan is easy to hit. He's got fast hands but uses his legs too much.. Peterson fought the fight of his life and don't want to take any credit from him but if I hit Khan flush, its good night Irene!

BoxingScene.com: Khan feels he won the fight. Do you feel it was a controversial fight?

It was a great fight for boxing. It was exciting and Khan needs to give credit to a guy like Peterson who's a blue-collar guy and beat him. I think it was the right call.

BoxingScene.com: So now that Khan lost, Erik Morales is fighting Danny Garcia, and Marcos Maidana is facing Devon Alexander. It's down to three options to fight Floyd Mayweather in May - if Manny Pacquiao doesn't agree to the fight. It's either you, Miguel Cotto, or Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. Your thoughts?

First, we all know Canelo ain't fighting him. Cotto would be a fool not to fight [Julio Cesar] Chavez Jr. in June at the Garden. Plus its Cinco De Mayo. No disrespect but its got be a Mexican representing our national day. I'm feeling styles make fights and I'm the only one who can beat Mayweather. Give me a chance I'll prove the experts wrong.

BoxingScene.com: So you would fight Mayweather on May 5, 2012?

Absolutely I want Floyd Mayweather on May 5th. The experts might say different but I'm ready to fight the best and it's a fact the experts aren't always right.  That's why you fight the fights. To say a fighter like myself doesn't deserve a shot is ridiculous. I've proven I'm an elite fighter that's won multiple world titles, now it's time to make that mega-fight. Marquez was a 9-1 underdog we all saw the fight. Based on all the experts Peterson was easily a 30-1 underdog. Give me the oppurtunity I will pull off the biggest upset since Buster Douglas beat Tyson.  Phil 4:13...I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
