Six time, four weight division champion Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero was in a jubilant mood during a recent training session for his November 24th clash against former two time welterweight champion Andre Berto.
Guerrero likes to start off fast out of the gate and pressure his opponents. Berto also is known for being a fast starter but sometimes fades in the middle rounds of his fights. The Ghost said that Berto better be ready to maintain a high pace for the duration of the fight.
"Everybody knows I come out fast and I also stay on the gas. Like I said in the press conference he better be ready to go 12 hard rounds and not just one or two hard rounds. Like I said, I'm coming out to fight and whether he comes out blasting for four or five rounds I am going to go 12 hard rounds," Guerrero told BoxingScene.com.
The Gilroy, Calif. native wouldn't go as far as to predict a knockout but also wouldn't be surprised if he finishes the job inside the distance. He doesn't think that Berto will be able to keep up with his stamina.
"My mind set is to go out there and win every single round and if the knockout comes it comes. Like I said I am going to go strong for 12 hard rounds. We can go at it toe to toe all 12 rounds. If I finish him earlier then even better," Guerrero stated.
