BoxingScene.com understands that Frank Warren Promotions has won the right to stage the rematch between British and Commonwealth super-middleweight champion George Groves and mandatory challenger Kenny Anderson.

Edinburgh’s ‘The Widowmaker’, 15-1 (11), today stated that he will exact a measure of revenge on Groves by handing the Londoner his first loss, the Edinburgh boxer is in fine form since the defeat to Groves.

Groves, 14-0 (11), prevailed in the sixth round when the two met at the MEN Arena on the undercard of David Haye versus Audley Harrison last November.  Anderson, though, floored ‘Saint’ heavily in the third only for the defending Commonwealth boss to force his way back into the contest.  Groves went on to hand James DeGale his first professional defeat, picking up the British belt after winning a tight majority decision.

Their rematch must take place by the end of May and will no doubt be added to BoxNation’s schedule once the date and venue are confirmed.  More to follow.
