Super middleweight contender George Groves (19-2, 15KOs) is looking to return to the ring “as soon as possible” after suffering a knockout loss to champion Carl Froch before a record crowd of 80,000 fans at Wembley stadium on May 31. Groves recently signed a promotion agreement with European powerhouse Sauerland Event and he expects their company will take him right to the top with yet another world title opportunity.
"I am feeling good, I’m back in the gym training and looking to be back in action as soon as possible and working towards getting a world title shot," Groves told Sky Sports Ringside. "What we anticipate to be a successful, career ahead of me. It is weird; it does not feel like a step back. It should feel like a step back but it doesn’t. It is not the arrival I hoped for – I am not world champion. But we created history and I think I played more than my part in that.”
“I would like to think that it is an inevitability that I will become a world champion; I am just going to have to work a little bit harder to get it. But I am more than happy to do that.”
