Super middleweight contender George Groves finds himself back in the same stable as former two division world champion David Haye.

Groves was at one time promoted by Haye's Haymaker Promotions. He left Haye in 2011 to sign with promoter Frank Warren and then later left Warren to sign with Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport. In 2014, Groves left Hearn and signed with German powerhouse Sauerland Event.

During Groves' many promotional switches, Haye barely saw any ring action. Haye's been inactive since knocking out Dereck Chisora in July of 2012. He's fought only once since losing to Wladimir Klitschko in 2011.

Several injuries, including shoulder surgery, nearly ended Haye's career. He finally announced his return late last year against Mark De Mori (30-1-2) on January 16th at the O2 Arena in London.

Besides the announced return, Haye revealed his new trainer Shane McGuigan, who is best known for his work with super bantamweight champion Carl Frampton. And Groves has since hired McGuigan as well.

If Haye looks impressive in two weeks, Groves says his former promoter could be right back in the mix with the top heavyweight. There are two huge fights waiting for Haye on domestic soil, with fellow Brits Anthony Joshua and WBO/IBO/WBA heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

"David Haye is licking his lips after watching Anthony Joshua against Dillian Whyte. If he has a good win against De Mori then he could be back on the scene. David's all right, he looks good, he's in decent nick. I haven't seen any of his sparring although by all accounts he is sparring well," said Groves to Daily Express.
