PUEBLA. Manuel "Chango" Vargas knows that it could be his last opportunity to win a major world title and he worked very hard during camp to epare for hos fight this coming Saturday against WBA junior flyweight king, Nicaraguan Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez, which airs on TV Azteca and Fox Sports. Zanfer will promote.

Vargas (27-7-1, 14 KOs) was the former WBO interim light flyweight champion, but found himself unable to win full crown when he was defeated by Donnie Nietes by split decision in September 2009. Then he had another chance in September 2010 in Tijuana and lost a majority decision to the WBO's interim ruler, Ramón García Hirales.

A new opportunity knocks on the door of "Chango", but he will encounter a strong opponent in "Chocolatito Gonzalez (27-0-0, 23 KOs), who was already prior a world champion and in his most recent fight, he won the WBA flyweight crown in two rounds by knocking out Mexico's Francisco "Chiquita" Rosas, who became his sixth Mexican victim.

"It's a fight I have no choice but to win. I trained hard. Zanfer has given me great support and I will respond by winning the world title," said Vargas from his native Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco.

Gonzalez-Vargas will be the headline main event. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. was the previous headliner and withdrew for his June 4th title shot. Alfonso Gomez was going to replace him on the card but he was unable to take the spot due to an injury.

The co-feature will pit Ricardo Dominguez against Luis Arceo.
