WBA/IBO/WBC interim-middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (31-0, 28KOs) is still very interested in a pay-per-view fight with former champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (48-1-1, 32KOs).

Golovkin's promoters tried to make the fight, but Chavez was having promotional issues with Top Rank.

Now that Chavez is with manager Al Haymon, it remains to be seen if a fight with Golovkin can be made. There is still a pending legal battle between Chavez and Top Rank. Golovkin is back on February 21 against Martin Murray, and Chavez is still reportedly looking to return in March.

"Yes, of course [I'm still interested in that fight]. What I want is a pay-per-view fight. I hope to have a pay-per-view fight very soon. Chavez would be a pay-per-view [fight]. I think it would be a good fight for the fans. The fans would like this fight with me and Chavez," Golovkin said.
