Now competing as a light heavyweight, Edwin Rodriguez (24-1, 16 KOs) will snap eleven months of inactivity on October 18th at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. The event is headined by an HBO televised middleweight unification between Gennady Golovkin and Marco Antonio Rubio. Rodriguez's fight is going to be part of an HBO Latino broadcast.

Rodriguez was last seen in November of 2013, failing to make weight and losing a twelve round unanimous decision to super middleweight ruler Andre Ward.

The opponent for Rodriguez is Azea Augustama (17-1, 9KOs), who suffered his only defeat in 2011 with an eight round majority decision to Denis Grachev.
