WBO super middleweight champion Gilberto Ramirez (35-0, 24 KOs) returned to the ring on Saturday night, and dominated Max Bursak over twelve rounds at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

It was Ramirez's first defense of the WBO belt since winning the title last April with a lopsided decision over veteran Arthur Abraham.

Ramirez is now ready to fight anyone - including IBF, WBC, WBA, IBO middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs).

Since last year, the idea of Golovkin vs. Ramirez has been discussed by both sides.

A few days ago, Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum advised BoxingScene.com that he would like to stage that fight in the fall. Arum already spoke with Golovkin's promoter, Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions.

That contest will depend on what happens in the aftermath of next month's major fight, when Saul "Canelo" Alvarez faces Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on May 6th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

There are ongoing negotiations for Canelo and Golovkin to face each other in the fall. Should Canelo take pass, which Arum believes he will do, then Ramirez will be a potential option for GGG.

Arum told BoxingScene that if Golovkin takes a pass, then he will match Ramirez with Jesse Hart (22-0, 18 KOs), who is also promoted by Top Rank.

"I feel very good. I want to continue working hard. My hand did not give me any problems. Now I'm ready for what's next. I'm ready for anyone.... Hart, Golovkin.... it doesn't matter. I want to win. I only need to get the signed contracts," Ramirez said.

Ramirez watched Golovkin's last fight, which took place in March against Daniel Jacobs. Golovkin won a twelve round decision.

It was the first time that Golovkin had been taken the twelve round distance, and the win snapped GGG's streak of 23 knockout wins.

Ramirez felt the contest confirmed that Golovkin was "human" and not "invincible" like many said he was. The final scores were close and Ramirez believes Jacobs could have won if he had started more aggressively in the early rounds.

"We all have a bad night. Jacobs did his job, he's a difficult fighter. I think if Jacobs had pushed harder from the start of that fight, he would have won," Ramirez said.
