Super middleweight George Groves has hit back at reports that he is working as a spy in Mikkel Kessler's training camp. Groves was used as a sparring partner as Kessler prepared for Saturday's unification rematch with Carl Froch. Both Groves and Froch are promoted by Eddie Hearn. Froch recently attacked Groves and called him "disloyal" and "jealous."

“I wouldn’t want to betray either of them. I expect my sparring partners to be professional and not talk about what goes on in the gym, and I am the same. Carl’s said I had to back up my claims for a world-title fight against him. So I went and sparred with the guy who beat him," Groves told Pat Sheehan of The Sun.

“I sparred with Carl before he fought Kessler the first time. Maybe this time I’ll have softened Kessler up a bit for him. Come fight night I’ll be supporting the British guy and I hope he wins.”
