Olympic gold medal winner Yuriorkis Gamboa (23-1, 16KOs) is making quick moves to reestablish himself as one of the best fighters in the sport. Last month he suffered the first loss of his career, when he was stopped in the ninth round of his exciting fight with WBO lightweight champion Terence Crawford.
It was clear during the contest that Gamboa, a former two division champion, was too small for 135-pounds. He plans to compete at super featherweight when he enters the ring later this year.
To strengthen his corner, Gamboa's legal adviser, Tony Gonzalez, told Carlos Narvaez that his boxer plans to add the services of Floyd Mayweather Sr., father and trainer of pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Mayweather Sr. will help boost the strong foundation created by Carlos Gamboa, father and trainer of Yuriokis.
"He needs a few adjustments and I spoke with 5 0Cent and Floyd Mayweather Sr. will join the team. Yuriorkis has only has one loss and wants to return strong," Gonzalez said.
