Gabriela Fundora remains on track to make the second defense of her undisputed women’s flyweight championship September 20 at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California – but she will now face a new challenger.

Fundora, 16-0 (8 KOs), will defend her four sanctioning body belts and The Ring title against Canada’s Alexas Daria Kubicki as part of a main-event doubleheader with unified minimumweight champion Oscar Collazo’s defense against Jayson Vayson. Fundora-Kubicki is scheduled for 10 two-minute rounds and will be featured on a DAZN-streamed card.

Fundora, a 23-year southpaw fighting out of Coachella, California, was originally scheduled to meet Argentina’s Ayelen “Piru” Granadino, 12-2-4 (1 KO), but on Thursday a source close to the fight proceedings told BoxingScene that Granadino had been denied her visa into the US.

Kubicki, 13-1 (2 KOs), a 22-year-old from Edmonton, Alberta, most recently outpointed Mexico’s then-undefeated Alondra Yamile Hernandez Mendoza in May. Her only defeat came in her seventh pro fight, an eight-round decision against Linda Contreras Ibarra in 2023. Kubicki, currently ranked No. 8 at women’s flyweight by the WBA, has since won seven straight.

Fundora became a world titlist at age 21, knocking out Arely Mucino in five rounds in October 2023. She consolidated all the belts to become undisputed in a seventh-round stoppage of Gabriela Celeste Alaniz last November.
