Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko’s world heavyweight championship rematch is bubbling up.
The first fight last November in Germany was more a tactical standoff with the real bulk of action coming in the last three minutes. Fury (25-0, 18KOs) boxed his way to an unexpected shocker of a twelve round unanimous decision to hand Klitschko his first defeat in over a decade.
For the return, both fighters have vowed to score a decisive knockout and cement their place as the division’s number one.
Klitschko says that he waited too long to let his hands go.
“In the twelfth round it was too late,” stated the former unified world champion.
This time coming in as the hungry challenger, Klitschko has suggested he’ll reveal to Fury, in the pre-fight press conference for July 9’s rematch, his mistakes from the first fight.
Unbeaten Fury played down the 40 year old’s success in the finale by insisting he finished the stronger.
“I landed more shots than you. It was the best round of the fight, the most entertaining because I wanted it to be. It was my choice.”
Speaking during the intense Face to Face episode, ‘Dr Steelhammer’ plans to attack and be on the front foot, something Fury is relishing.
“If you want to fight, happy days… Christmas has come early for me!” grinned the Heavyweight king.
