The UFC 64, which took place in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, saw the crowning of two new champions.


Rich Franklin vs. Anderson Silva - Before the fight even started, Franklin was sporting a black eye on the right, and had swelling on his left eye - both sustained from training.


Silva destroyed Franklin in a single round to win the UFC middleweight title. Silva kept up his image of being the best striker in the middleweight division when he crippled Franklin with numerous knees that broke Franklin's body, appeared to break his nose and a final knee that seemed to catch Franklin on the temple and put him to sleep.


Sean Sherk Vs. Kenny Florian - Sean Sherk captured the UFC lightweight title by a 5 round unanimous decision over Kenny Florian.


Jon Fitch Vs. Kuniyoshi Hironaka - Jon Fitch Wins by Unanimous Decision at 5:00 in the 3rd round


Cheick Kongo Vs. Carmelo Marrero - Carmelo Marrero Wins by Split Decision at 5:00 in the 3rd round


Spencer Fisher Vs. Dan Lauzon - Spencer Fisher Wins by Technical Knock Out at 4:38 in the 1st round .


Yushin Okami Vs. Kalib Starnes - Yushin Okami Wins by Technical Knock Out at 1:40 in the 3rd round .


Justin James Vs. Clay Guida - Clay Guida Wins by Submission at 4:42 in the 2nd round by rear naked choke.


Kurt Pellegrino Vs. Junior Assuncao - Kurt Pellegrino Wins by Submission at 2:04 in the 1st round by rear naked choke.
