The UFC 64, which took place in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, saw the crowning of two new champions.
Rich Franklin vs. Anderson Silva - Before the fight even started, Franklin was sporting a black eye on the right, and had swelling on his left eye - both sustained from training.
Silva destroyed Franklin in a single round to win the UFC middleweight title. Silva kept up his image of being the best striker in the middleweight division when he crippled Franklin with numerous knees that broke Franklin's body, appeared to break his nose and a final knee that seemed to catch Franklin on the temple and put him to sleep.
Sean Sherk Vs. Kenny Florian - Sean Sherk captured the UFC lightweight title by a 5 round unanimous decision over Kenny Florian.
