In what has to be considered one of the best fights of 2009, WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch came off the deck in the third round, and rallied in the championship rounds to stop Jermain Taylor in the twelfth and final round at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods in Connecticut.

"I would definitely give him [a rematch]. Jermain is world class. He landed some big counter shots. The last round I was hoping that my intuition was right that Jermain Taylor was tired. He was badly hurt and not defending myself. He was badly hurt and not even looking at me. This is my first defense in America, the first of my big fights," Froch said.

Taylor indeed wants a rematch. The last time he was knocked out, by Kelly Pavlik, he took an immediate rematch. It may be wise for Taylor to take an interim fight instead going straight to a second bout with Froch. The recent knockout loss was very similiar to the one with Pavlik. In that loss he had Pavlik down in the early rounds, like he did with Froch, but tired as the fight went on and got knocked out.

"I would like a rematch," said Taylor. "My hats off to him. He came here and stuck it out through 12 rounds. I trained my hardest. He just stayed with it and he got it."
