Former light heavyweight champion Glen Johnson will be ready for anything that Carl Froch, the WBC super middleweight champ, brings to the ring in semi-final bout in the Super Six tournament. Johnson will not underestimate Froch. He underestimated his ability to beat Arthur Abraham in November. Froch did a number on Abraham, dominating the fight from start to finish.
"It was a beautiful fight. He boxed smart and he did what he was supposed to do," said Johnson to the Nottingham Post. "He proved me wrong. He did everything right. I'm very pleased he has shown respect for me. Whenever I face a guy who shows me the same respect as I show him, I think it's great."
Froch displayed a great jab against Abraham. He plans to use the same jab on Johnson, who plans to adapt to whatever Froch does in the ring. The fight is being eyed for March or April in the United States.
"I don't know what his game-plan will be, but my job is to be ready. If he wants to box, I don't see any problems with that. Or if he wants to fight – either way, I will be able to adapt. I've boxed for 21 years and I know that when you step in there with a guy, that is when you find out if he is the real deal or not. "Only when we fight in the ring will we know if his jab will work or will not work."
