WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch spoke to BoxingScene.com about the upcoming fight between his British countryman, WBA heavyweight champion David Haye, and unified IBF/IBO/WBO champion Wladimir Klitschko. The heavyweight blockbuster is scheduled for July 2 in Hamburg, Germany. If Haye defeats Klitschko to unify the titles - Froch believes the victory would be a huge achievement for British boxing.
"[If Haye wins] it would be massive for British boxing. It's a victory that Haye can definitely pull off. He can beat Wladimir. It's a tough fight, and everyone knows it. David Haye is going to go out and let his big shots go. It's a fight that could go either way and I'm rooting for David Haye. I want him to win it and I believe that he can win it. It would be brilliant for British boxing," Froch told BoxingScene.com.
Neither boxer has the reputation of possessing an iron chin. Both boxers have vowed to win by knockout.
"It could be a matter of who lands first, but I think Haye's got more balls than Klitschko. He's more self-believable and confident. You've seen Klitschko yourself, running to hide and [wants] keep out of the way. He's afraid of his own shadow in some fights. David Haye, he has a big set of cojones on him. I think he's going to land first but you never know. It's boxing," Froch said.
