MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada - There definitely is no love lost between veteran trainers Freddie Roach and Teddy Atlas. Their respective fighters, Manny Pacquiao and Tim Bradley, battle for the third time on Saturday night on the Las Vegas strip. The fight will be distributed by HBO pay-per-view.
Roach said that it doesn't really matter who the better trainer is because he has the superior fighter and that will show on April 9th.
"I don't like Teddy and he doesn't like me but that is okay. He says he is a better trainer than me but we will see. The thing is I don't think I am a really good trainer but I have the better fighter than he does and I think that is what is going to win the fight," said Roach.
The Hall of Fame trainer believes that their beef stems from when he took over training duties for former heavyweight champion Michael Moorer and readily admits that the animosity between them makes him want a knockout victory even more.
Roach couldn't resist getting one more shot in at his adversary.
"Of course I always like knockouts but yes I want one even more. I don't know why Teddy got mad at me when I took over with Michael Moorer, but he quit with Michael Moorer and he gave me a lot of sh*t after that but I don't care. He has been an announcer for a long time and that is what I think he is," Roach told BoxingScene.com.
