BoxingScene.com spoke with promoter Frank Warren about his upcoming card on May 15 at Upton Park in West Ham, London. The event headliner is a lightweight fight between WBO-interim champion Michael Katsidis (26-2, 21KOs) and rising British star Kevin Mitchell (31-0, 23KOs). The venue can seat over 30,000 fans.

After Amir Khan's departure to Golden Boy Promotions, a lot of people view Mitchell as the next star in Warren's stable. He won a dominating decision over Khan-conqueror Breidis Prescott in December.

"The show is doing great. We sold over 10,000 tickets and we have a long way to go. It's going to be a good fight. He comes to fight the other kid. Kevin had the problems with his hand and because of that he was inactive. He had the operation last year, and then we moved him up a weight division," Warren told BoxingScene.com.

"I think he's settled at the weight with his boxing. He had a great knockout in his last fight. He just lifted the guy right off the floor. If he wins this fight, which I think he should, it would be really big."

Should Mitchell beat Katsidis, the next target is the full WBO lightweight title, which is currently held by Juan Manuel Marquez. The Mexican champion is tentatively scheduled to fight Juan Diaz in a rematch on July 10. Warren picks Marquez to pull through. If Marquez decides to stick around at 135-pounds, Warren will do his best to secure that fight for Mitchell.

"If he has to fight Marquez, then he's going to fight Marquez," Warren said.
