Frank Warren, co-promoter for heavyweight contender Tyson Fury, feels confident that his boxer will stop WBC world world champion Deontay Wilder in their anticipated rematch.
The second fight takes place on February 22nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
They initially met in December 2018, at Staples Center in Los Angeles, with the contest resulting in a controversial twelve round split draw.
The first time around, Fury went down twice in the bout, including a near fight-ending knockdown in the twelfth round. Fury's style of boxing gave Wilder fits during the entire contest.
After the first bout, Fury then began a campaign in the United States with two wins. He blew away Tom Schwarz in June, but had his share of issues in winning a tough decision over Otto Wallin in September. Both fights took place in Las Vegas.
Warren is not worried about the judges. He believes Fury is more well known at this point in the Unites States than Wilder.
“I actually do think Tyson will stop him but, having said that, I don’t see Wilder doing anything differently than he did in the first fight, albeit he is a dangerous sod. I see Tyson comprehensively out-boxing him this time around before either stopping him or winning on points by a wide margin," Warren said.
“There has been a lot made of the situation regarding the officials and we will deal with that. As things stand though, I think more people in the States know Tyson than know Wilder so it will be like he is the home fighter."
“The Brits will be there in thousands as well to get behind their man and they will take over Las Vegas.”
