Belfast’s Carl Frampton (21-0, 14 KOs) has told TalkSport that he would only require one fight to settle his domestic rivalry with Bury’s Scott Quigg.
Eddie Hearn, Quigg’s promoter, has revealed that he is prepared to offer the IBF Super bantamweight titlist a two-fight deal—with one bout taking place in Manchester and the return in Ireland—but Frampton insists that he will get things right first time.
"No one has started talking yet but hopefully we can sit down and get it sorted," he said. "I'm very keen on the fight and I'm happy to go to Manchester to fight him. I don't even think we need to come to Belfast after that because I'm confident I'm going to win that fight, so what's the point in a rematch? I want to move on to bigger and better things after him.
"I don't want any of these publicity stunts with cheques and stuff like that. If we get around a table and talk, I think the fight can be made. I'm happy to go to Manchester because I know I would take half of Northern Ireland with me."
The 28-year-old also revealed that Cyclone Promotions would want to play a part in the promotion if a deal is reached, including undercard slots for Barry McGuigan's other fighters.
He said: "It's important for us to be able to see everything that's going on behind the scenes, what's coming in, what's going out. “We want to be able to get some of our fighters on the bill, some of the guys I train with all the time. There are things that need to be talked about but I believe the fight can be made."
