Former heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs has weighed in on the September showdown between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford. Speaking with Fight Hub TV, Briggs predicted that Crawford will pull off the upset against the undisputed super middleweight king.

“I think it’s going to be a great fight. I got Crawford by stoppage. I’ve known him since he was a little kid, 12 years old. So to see him now fighting for a title in such a big fight, it’s great to see." Briggs said. One thing Canelo has shown is he can be outboxed.”

Many are backing Crawford after what some viewed as a lackluster performance from Alvarez against William Scull. Still, Crawford will be jumping up two weight classes for the September 13 clash in Las Vegas. With the fight just over two months away and hype continuing to build, some are already calling it “the fight of the century.”
