The date of October 9th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn is being mentioned for the light heavyweight showdown between Andrzej Fonfara (27-3, 16 KOs) and former WBO light heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly (29-2, 15 KOs), according to Sports Review.

The two boxers were mentioned to be facing each other in 2012, but the fight never happened.  Cleverly was the WBO champion from 2011 to 2013, when he was knocked out in four rounds by Sergei Kovalev. Since then he recorded three wins and one defeat. In the last fight he halted in the first round Tomas Man.

Cleverly made a brief trip to cruiserweight, before losing to rival Tony Bellew and heading back down to 175. Fonfara is back from the biggest win of his career, an April TKO victory over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
