Former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (49-2-1, 32KOs) struggled to make the super middleweight limit this past Saturday night for his fight with Marcos Reyes. The fight went from 168 to a contract weight limit of 170-pounds. Chavez still came in overweight at 170.8-pounds.
Chavez was returning from a ninth round TKO defeat to top light heavyweight contender Andrzej Fonfara (27-3, 16KOs).
That match took place at 172-pounds. Three of Chavez's last four fights took place above 170-pounds and there is even some discussion that he might be forced to fight in the light heavyweight division.
Chavez has continued to call for a revenge fight with Fonfara, at some point in the future. The Polish Price sent a warning, that he'll knock Chavez out again and maybe even quicker this time.
"I want to congratulate Chavez on the victory, but we all know that if we met again - I would knock out him out again, maybe even quicker," Fonfara said.
