The interim lightweight world champion of the World Boxing Council (WBC), undefeated Omar "Panterita" Figueroa (22-0-1, 17 KOs) is going to test out his right hand before committing himself to a fight with Ricardo "Dinamita" Alvarez ( Canelo's older brother) on March 8th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Figueroa damaged the right hand during a "Fight of The Year" battle last July with Nihito Arakawa. For the last five months, Figueroa has been rehabbing the right hand back to full strength.

The main event of the March card will feature a junior middleweight battle between Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Alfredo Angulo. Showtime Pay-Per-View will carry the event.

"I'm just going to go and start my workouts, and then I will know how I my hand feels, and depending on that we will know if I'm going to face Ricardo Alvarez, or not," Figueroa told ESPN Deportes Radio.
