Super flyweight contender Felix “La Ardilla” Pérez (8-4, 3KOs), who lost his last three bouts, pulled off a big upset in Caguas, Puerto Rico. In the main event of a WAPA 2 Deportes card being presented by Miguel Cotto Promotions and H2 Entertainment, Perez won an eight round unanimous decision over Miguel Robles (12-2-2, 5KOs). The scores were 76-75, 78-73 and 78-73. Perez was the better boxer in the contest and scored a knockdown in the third.
"I feel really happy with this victory. I knew that I could beat him and it is a new chapter in my career," said Perez, who becomes the new Super Flyweight FECARBOX champion.
In other action was the heavyweight sensation "El Chicano" Carlos Cotto (3-0, 3KOs) scored a spectacular KO over Victor Pizarro in round two. With this powerful punch "El Chicano" achieves the prize of "El Palo De La Noche" from Palo Viejo.
