All fighters made weight ahead of Saturday's show in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. The card is the latest installment of Boxeo Al Maximo, a series presented by Promociones Miguel Cotto and which airs on Univision in Puerto Rico.
Included on this weekend's bill—which comes in association with Hector Soto's H2 Promotions and Jay Z's Roc Nation Sports—are rising standouts Jose Martinez and Jantony Ortiz.
Also on the bill, Carlos Cotto—a heavyweight and cousin to promoter/reigning middleweight king Miguel Cotto—looks to avenge the lone loss of his career as he faces Jimmy Suarez. The bout is a rematch to their clash in February, in which Suarez stunned Cotto in a 1st round knockout in Carolina, Puerto Rico.
The pair of heavyweights nearly began their rematch a day early, as both fighters had to be restrained following a chatty and intense staredown during Friday's weigh-in.
