Following last weekend's beatdown of Roy Jones Jr. at New York's Madison Square Garden, Joe Calzaghe told media members that he was finally ready to retire after a 15-year unbeaten. According to Enzo Calzaghe, Joe's father and trainer, during the last few days - his son is having second thoughts about walking away from the ring. He could see his son returning to the ring after getting bored and/or receiving a very large offer to take a fight.

Several big names like Ricky Hatton and Lennox Lewis have been calling for Joe to hang up the gloves, telling the Welsh fighter that he doesn't have anything left to prove.

"Retirement is not definite for Joe. Joe is going to take a bit of time out now to bask in the glory of what he achieved in New York before making a final decision on his future. He has a lot of champagne to drink and a lot of thinking to do," Enzo told The Guardian.

"Boredom is the enemy of all human beings and Joe more than anyone is aware of that. He doesn't want to retire and then realise he has nothing to occupy him. He doesn't want to make a decision which may prove to have been premature."

Joe has no shortage of challengers. In the last few days, Calzaghe has received fight offers from Mikkel Kessler, Bernard Hopkins, Chad Dawson, Carl Froch and Glen Johnson. Enzo says they are receiving phone calls every single days with fight offers.

"We're getting calls from fighters and promoters every day asking for a fight and we've ruled nothing in and nothing out at this stage," Enzo said.
