Leonard Ellerbe, CEO of Mayweather Promotions, says Floyd Mayweather Jr. is still on course to fight on September 12th, likely at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas - but there is no word on the opponent.

Last month, Mayweather (48-0, 26KOs) won a twelve round unanimous decision over career rival Manny Pacquiao in the richest fight in boxing history to unify the WBA/WBO/WBC welterweight world titles.

Mayweather claims that his fight in September will be the final ring outing of his pro career. But he already fell back on a previous statement, where he said he was planning to vacate all five of his world titles. Mayweather has yet to vacate any of his belts.

"He said he wants to go in September and I haven't heard any different," Ellerbe said to David Mayo of Mlive.com. "But we haven't had a conversation about it. There are a number of good young fighters out there all vying for a shot at the king of the hill."

"Floyd will determine who he fights and when he fights and no one will rush his decision. He'll make up his mind who he's fighting, if he's fighting, and we'll go from there. And that decision will be made not one day before he's ready to make it."
