This past Monday night in Yokohama, Japan, Eagle Kyowa (18-1, 6KOs) won an easy decision over Akira Yaegashi (6-1, 5KOs) to retain his WBC strawweight title. Yaegashi was stung several times in the fight from Kyowa's power punches and eventually tasted the canvas in the tenth round. He was able to make it to the final bell.

The scores were 119-107, 119-107 and 118-108.

On the undercard;

Former WBC superflyweight champion Katsushige Kawashima (31-6, 21KOs) knocked out Jaesung Myung (4-5) in the third round after sending him down to the canvas for the fourth time.
