El Paso, Texas - BoxingScene.com spoke to Hall of Fame promoter Don King to get his thoughts on powerful manager/adviser Al Haymon. King also gave his thoughts on the recent lawsuits that were filed against Haymon by Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank, who both claim Haymon's company is attempting to create a monopoly with their Premier Boxing Champions series.
"Al Haymon is the man. His word is his bond. That is what I live with," King told BoxingScene.com. "I love what he's doing, but you have to understand that black success is unacceptable - because for 400 years its been deeply engrained into the psyche of America...People of color are inferior, whites have supremacy....but it's all being taught. When they see [black success], it causes the problem because it differentiates from everything that they've been taught. The youth is not buying it, the young kids are not buying it. I'm proud of Al Haymon, he's doing a great job.
"You have to understand that its the system that makes that happen. Everybody is fighting him because he's trying to do something. They don't know what it is, so therefore they are fighting against him."
