It was recently reported that WBA #2 rated middleweight Dmitry “Night Wolf” Chudinov (12-0-2, 8 KOs) was looking to fight against WBA #3 ranked Australian Jarrod Fletcher (18-1, 10 KOs) in the undercard of the WBA lightweight championship between champion Richard Abril and his Russian challenger Eduard Troyanovskiy. The whole card was set to take place on March 22 in Moscow, Russia, under Vladimir Hryunov’s promotion.
Now this date – regarding the Chudinov vs. Fletcher showdown – seems to be shifting to a new one. According to Boxko.ru, which is a primary source of information about Vladimir Hryunov’s protégés, negotiations between Hryunov and Fletcher’s promoter Greg Cohen are indeed going on, but the most probable date is now April 19.
This new date has been offered by Hryunov after Fletcher suffered several lacerations in his recent (victorious) bout against European Champion Maxim Bursak in Monaco on February 1.
Cohen informed the Russian party that the Australian boxer wouldn’t be ready to fight up until March 29. No official response has yet been given from Greg Cohen Promotions to the new proposed date.
