Joseph 'Jo Jo' Diaz literally talked himself into this opportunity, yet still has plenty more to say.

The 2012 U.S. Olympian and former title challenger is eager to transition his war of words with Tevin Farmer into the biggest moment of his career, as they collide this Thursday in Miami, Florida. Their 130-pound title clash is part of a loaded pre-Super Bowl DAZN-streamed boxing card in South Beach, headlined by Demetrius Andrade (28-0, 17KOs) in a middleweight title defense versus Ireland's Luke Keeler (17-2-1, 5KOs).

Much of the 11-fight card serves a greater purpose to Matchroom Boxing, the lead promoter for the show. This bout, however, was one where the two participants had to make their voices heard in order to land a spot.

"There's a lot at stake, for both of us," Diaz (30-1, 15KOs) acknowledged during Tuesday's pre-fight press conference in Miami's tourist-friendly South Beach region. "We have a lot to live up to. [Farmer] talked a lot of sh--, he has to back it all up. I talked a lot of sh--, so I have to come through as well."

Diaz has come through on all but one occasion since turning pro more than seven years ago. The 27-year old southpaw from Downey, California has won four straight since suffering his lone career loss, a 12-round decision to Gary Russell Jr. in their featherweight title fight nearly two years ago. Yet it wasn't so much his win over Freddy Fonseca last May which earned this latest opportunity, but the pre-fight build up.

Farmer—who attempts the 5th defense of his junior lightweight title—came out of pocket to fly cross-country from Philadelphia to Las Vegas, just to bring his social media war of words into real time. The 29-year old southpaw made it a point to get in Diaz's face following a pre-fight press conference for a card topped by Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez's title unification win over Daniel Jacobs, the moment stealing some headlines during the heavy-traffic fight week.

The pair of left-handed boxers plan to steal the show this weekend, though Diaz has every intention of snatching much more than a little bit of extra attention.

"Tevin Farmer, I hope you're sleeping with that belt at night," Diaz noted to his longtime rivai. "Because in two days, that sh-- is mine."
