Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya has high expectations for the fight between Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto, taking place on November 21st at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

De La Hoya feels the Cotto-Canelo HBO Pay-Per-View is capable of doing outstanding numbers - exceeding De La Hoya's 1999 pay-per-view with Felix Trinidad [1.4 million buys], and Canelo's 2013 pay-per-view with Floyd Mayweather Jr. [2.2 million buys and third largest PPV buyrate].

Cotto and Canelo have both done high numbers with being the B-side of the PPV. Cotto's PPV fight with Mayweather generated 1.5 million buys and with Manny Pacquiao had 1.25 million buys. For this card, both fighters believe they stand as the A-side and the final numbers will tell a lot on what they are capable of doing without the involvement of Mayweather in the equation.

"Ever since I started Golden Boy Promotions, I've been promoting the biggest events in the sports. This has the potential to be bigger than Mayweather-Canelo, this has the potential to be bigger than Trinidad-De La Hoya - but one thing about us, we always try to surpass, to up whatever fight were doing....we try to do bigger and better. Is this biggest fight we're promoting? Today [it is]. Tomorrow is could be Canelo-Cotto 2 and it would be huge," De La Hoya said.
