Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya has denied the information which is circulating about the agreed upon purses for the Miguel Cotto vs. Saul "Canelo" Alvarez showdown are "not even close to accurate."

De La Hoya, who promotes Canelo, says there is no truth in the published reports which state his boxer is only getting $10 million to Cotto's published guarantee of $30 million.

While not revealing the exact split figures, De La Hoya says their guarantees are closer to 50-50. There is speculation that a 55-45 split is in place, in Cotto's favor. Cotto, through his mega-million promotional deal that he signed with Roc Nation Sports earlier this year, has a personal guarantee per fight which is unrelated to the performance of the pay-per-view.

Cotto-Canelo takes place on November 21 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, on HBO Pay-per-View.

"No [it's not true]. It's not even close or accurate what's circulating in the media. Look, like I said - in the ring it's a 50-50 fight and outside the ring it's close to being 50-50. Both fighters are going to make a lot of money, which is great, which is beautiful - but that's not what they are focused on. They are focused on giving us a great, great fight," De La Hoya told BoxingScene.com.
