Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya once again expressed the opinion that WBC/WBC junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (42-0-1, 30KOs) will be faster and in much better shape for Floyd Mayweather Jr. - because of the agreed upon catch-weight of 152-pounds. The fight is scheduled for September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

"Canelo is a guy who is strong, hits hard and he is fast, but sneaky fast. People will be surprised at how fast he will be. The [catch-weight] is something that had to be done [to get the deal made]. I don't think it will affect either fighter one bit. I think on the contrary, it will probably play to Canelo's advantage. I think he will have no problem making 152. I think the way it benefits him is not only will he work harder, but he’ll be faster inside the ring. He won’t be carrying that extra weight, he has a nutrionist now, he has perfect team now,” De La Hoya told BoxingScene.com.
