Heavyweight contender David Haye claims the head of WBA heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev has continued to grow since the last time the two fighters saw each other. Haye stood chest to face with the 7'2 champion at the final press conference for their fight on Saturday. He claims the head of Valuev has grown bigger.

"It was the first time we'd seen each other properly since the first head-to-chest back when the fight was announced. Rest assured — he's still bloody big and he still doesn't say a whole lot. However, when getting close to him I did notice one slight change — his enormous head actually seems to be getting even bigger! It was definitely larger than when I first stared up at it a few months ago," Haye said.

"Is having an ever-growing head a good thing or a bad thing? I guess, as far as I'm concerned, it's great that Valuev's head seems to be expanding by the day. That just leaves me with more of a target to hit on Saturday night. If you're given something that big to whack away on for 12 rounds, you're not going to wait for a second invitation."

Haye is no longer concerned with Valuev's size. He plans to punish the giant fighter and still predicts a knockout win to grab the belt.

"They say you can get lost in someone's eyes, but I've never had the same happen with someone's head. In fact, Valuev no longer even surprises me anymore when I see him. I admit I was a little taken aback when we first met, but now he just seems 'normal'. I've watched so much footage of this giant man over the past seven or eight weeks, had all the punch bags raised and have been sparring with some absolute monsters in the gym. I've almost accepted his ridiculous size and got lost in his world," Haye said.

"However, with only days to go until we fight, I now feel fully acclimatised to his size. I'm actually enjoying punching upwards for the first time in my career. I'm relishing the opportunity to explode on this big guy and really cut him down to size on Saturday night. I've accepted the fact we'll never see eye-to-eye on anything, but Valuev's more than welcome to eye up the side of my boxing boots once he's conked out on the canvas."
