Undefeated WBC super lightweight champion, Danny Garcia, predicts that the dust up between Mexican, Roberto Ortiz (31-0-1, 24KOs), who is the silver champion, and Argentinian Lucas Mattyhsse (35-3, 33KOs), former interim champion, will flare into an outright war.
On September 6th in Cincinnati, on a card organized by Golden Boy Promotions, the Mexican and Argentinan will take to the ring in what is expected to be a classic Showtime televised slugfest.
Danny, who is going to fight in a non- title bout this weekend, says that 'Massa' is a great fighter, so he could get the victory, but only if he uses all the ring and his intelligence to counter the ferocious attacks of his opponent. Garcia knows Lucas rather well, as he defeated him in September of last year by unanimous decision in a match where the favorite was the Argentinian.
"It will be a war, it will be a big fight in the super lightweight division, and a very attractive fight for the fans. The Mexican is a good fighter and [Matthysse] is very dangerous. I think it's going to be a very even fight," mused Danny.
