Undefeated light-welterweight Danny ‘Swift’ Garcia will realize his dream on March 24th when the Philadelphian tackles Mexican legend Erik Morales for the WBC title in Houston, Texas.

The 23 year-old, who has amassed 22 victories in just over four years as a professional, is confident he has what it takes to defeat the four-weight world champion and go on to claim more titles in the future.

“I am excited and feel blessed to be in this position to face a legend like Erik Morales,” Garcia told World Boxing News.

“I think Morales has looked good in his last two fights and I am expecting a tough fight.  After I beat Kendall Holt, that gave me the number two position with the WBC so I knew there was a possibility that I would fight him.

“But that is what I want. I want to fight the best out there. This is what I signed up for when I became a fighter. I want to unify the titles.”

If Garcia is successful in dethroning ‘El Terrible’ in the spring, there is a possible three-belt battle with WBA and IBF title holder Lamont Peterson, who defeated Amir Khan last month in Washington - a result that Garcia believes was the correct one.

“It was a great fight, stated Garcia. “I thought Peterson wanted it more and pressed the fight so I gave it to him but I thought the fight could have gone either way.

“Hopefully there may be another huge bout down the line and I want to make sure I am in a great position for big fights for the fans,” he added.
