Although his pending plan is to ascend to 154 pounds with a view to adding a fifth world title in his third weight class, Danny 'Swift' Garcia aspires this Saturday to secure another world title at 147 pounds.

To achieve this, Garcia will face Shawn Porter at the Barclays Arena in Brooklyn for the vacant welterweight belt of the World Boxing Council (WBC).

"I am 100% ready to be world champion again. I've worked hard, I'm motivated and anything Porter brings will not work. I don't know if my next fight will be in another weight class, but I definitely have in the plans to go up and win more titles," said Garcia to Carlos Gonzalez.

Garcia has been a world champion at 140 and at 147 pounds.

Garcia's fights have been scattered over the past few years. In 2016 he beat Robert Guerrero and Samuel Vargas, but in 2017 he only took part in a single fight - against Keith Thurman, and lost by way of a twelve round split decision.

Garcia was back in action in February, and got his career back on track when he pulled off a vicious knockout of Brandon Rios in Las Vegas.

"For that fight I was super prepared and the people were the witness. On the night of September 8, we will have to see if Porter can resist. We will see which of the two has more desire to win," said Garcia (34-1, 20 KOs). "I always push myself to the limits and I'll be ready for Porter."

The strong puncher acknowledged that beating Porter would place him again in the front row of the boxing circles.

"I'm focused on being a four-time world champion. That is my goal and at the end of the day I will achieve it," he said.

Garcia vs. Porter will headline a live broadcast on Showtime, started at 9:00 p.m. EST.
