Graham Shaw is preparing Daniel Geale for what might be the biggest fight in his career against Miguel Cotto on Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. However Geale, a legitimate middleweight will have to shed 3 extra pounds to make the 157 lb. catch weight agreed upon. Shaw feels they’ll make the fight even if he has reservations about the weight.

Shaw feels that this week has been riddled with more questions about Gennady Golovkinand Canelo Alvarez with less being about Daniel Geale. He feels his fighter is being overlooked.

“I wouldn’t talk about a fight after I have a fight in front of me,” Shaw said. “I wouldn’t do it but Miguel’s certainly got a lot of good people in front of him so if they want to talk up another fight, they can do that but I certainly wouldn’t do that.”

Last time Geale fought in New York, he was stopped by Gennady Golovkin early, Shaw feels his fighter gets a better go at it this time around.

“A lot of things in the fight didn’t go our way,” Shaw said referring to things mismanaged by those sanctioning the fight. “You know 4 minute rounds certainly don’t help. That’s a big disappointment for us the time thing. Then he trips on a camera on the apron, no one should be on the apron. You think you come to New York you don’t get amateur things happening. I take nothing from Gennady, he’s a great fighter. When you’re in big fights, you certainly hope things like that will be taken care of. We didn’t get off to a good start, Gennady got the win.”
