IBF middleweight champion Daniel Geale recently spoke to BoxingScene.com about his upcoming unification fight against fellow titlist Felix Sturm. The fight takes place in the WBA champion's home country Germany on September 1st. In this exclusive interview Geale talks about fighting on Sturm's home turf, the keys to victory and more.

Daniel Geale:  This is the type of fight I've wanted since becoming IBF champ.  I know that boxing fans will not be disappointed as I intend to give my best performance to date.

BoxingScene: You are no stranger to fighting in Germany as you won your title over there against Sebastian Sylvester. How confident are you that you will get a fair shake with the judges and referees?

Daniel Geale: I am very confidence my team will ensure that I get a fair shake once again and with Gary Shaw overseeing negotiations all I have to do is concentrate on my job.

BoxingScene:  What do you think is the key to winning the fight?

Daniel Geale:  Felix has been a great champion but this is my time. Without giving too much away I know I have the tools and the game plan to become the unified champion.

BoxingScene:  In your last fight you defeated Osumanu Adama via unanimous decision. How do you rate your performance in that fight?

Daniel Geale:  I was happy with my performance, Osumanu changed his normal aggressive come forward style after the first round so I adapted and did what was necessary to win the fight.

BoxingScene: Assuming you beat Sturm like you plan where do you want to go from there?

Daniel Geale: I fight in the ring and only look at my next fight.  I leave the opponents to my promotional team.

BoxingScene: Do you have a message for the fans in closing?

Daniel Geale:  My fans inspire me and although they appreciate that I am sort of the new kid on the block but come September 2nd everyone will realize that I am a force to be reckoned with in the 160lb division.
