Staples Center, Los Angeles, California - In a special attraction, the return of Christy Martin was an entertaining one with both her and her opponent Dakota Stone going toe to toe in back and forth fashion. Both ladies traded bombs throughout the fight with Martin being the vastly more experienced fighter and Stone being the naturally bigger one.
Martin dropped Stone in the 4th with a right hand only to have Stone come back strong. Martin hurt her right hand in the 4th as well and it looked as if the fight would stop but she continued on only to have the fight stopped in the 6th when Martin doubled over in pain from a right she threw. The ringside doctor advised referee David Mendoza that Martin could not continue meaning Stone wins by a technical stoppage. Top Rank's Lee Samuels later advised that Martin indeed broke her right hand in the 4th. Stone improves to 10-8-4 (1KO) while the hard luck Martin drops to 49-6-5 (32KOs)
