WBC super flyweight champion Carlos Cuadras (34-0-1, 26KOs) wants the best possible fights in 2016.
He had a very good 2015. Cuadras won a twelve round unanimous decision over current WBA interim-champion Luis Concepcion in April. He then stopped Dixon Flores in five rounds in August, and came back on November 28th when he traveled to Japan to win a dominant decision over Koki Eto.
Cuadras has to face mandatory challenger Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (37-4-1, 34KOs) in his next bout. Cuadras already defeated the Thai boxer with a technical decision in 2014 to capture the WBC belt. Sor Rungvisai has won ten fights since, nine by knockout.
"He's the number one, he's my official challenger, who I removed the title from. I think he's going to come in angry. If I beat him once, I will beat him twice," Cuadras said.
Besides his mandatory, he wants to have a unification with WBO champion Naoya Inoue (8-0, 7KOs) and a possible fight with WBC flyweight champion Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (44-0, 38KOs), who might move up to 115 in the next twelve rounds.
"For the coming year I want to fight Inoue, possibly Chocolatito. We want to be the best and to be the best you have to fight the best," Cuadras said.
