WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto is scheduling a meeting with Top Rank to discuss a possible rematch with Antonio Margarito on July 16. Ever since the incident in 2009, where illegal inserts were found in Margarito's handwraps before a scheduled fight with Shane Mosley, there has been doubts about the legit nature of Margarito's eleven round knockout of Cotto from 2008. Cotto says a lot of the bad blood is behind him and now he's looking to the future.

"Everything that happened back then is a thing of the past and I've left it behind me. I'm only concerned with what occurs in this fight. I made mistakes, there were mistakes made by everyone but the good thing is that we already understand what they were and we've learned to get rid of them, so we can put together a better plan for a fight with Margarito," Cotto told Sal Rodriguez.

Cotto will not speculate on Margarito possibly using illegal wraps for their fight. He says Margarito is the only person who knows the true answer to that question.

"The only one who can answer that is him, but there are some pictures taken of him after the fight and he has a pink bandage on his fists, which is the same color as the bandage that was confiscated in the fight with Mosley," Cotto said. "We all know how the fight played out. The first six rounds I was up [on points] and then I made mistakes, with or without the handwraps [being involved]."
