Former WBO light heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly will consider retirement if he loses the upcoming rematch with Tony Bellew on November 22nd in Liverpool. Cleverly beat Bellew in 2011 to retain his WBO crown at 175-pounds, but the rematch will take place at the cruiserweight limit of 200-pounds.
Both fighters are still rebuilding after suffering knockout defeats in 2013. Cleverly was blown out by Sergey Kovalev, while Bellew was punished and stopped by Adonis Stevenson.
"The loser? Who knows, maybe it's time to walk away," Cleverly said to BBC Sport. "The winner goes on to fight for the world title. It's a massive opportunity. There's so much on the line in this fight and I can't afford anything else.
"It's a must win and I will give it everything. I will give it absolutely everything to take this guy down."
